Flagstaff Weekend Retreat August 2025
In-Person Weekend Meditation Retreat
Topic: Meeting The Moment
Many of us are drawn to spiritual practice by a longing for peace, happiness, or even awakening. These intentions are beautiful and deeply human. Yet sometimes, in our striving for the future, we overlook what is already before us. This retreat is focused on liberating ourselves in the moment, not by becoming something else but by learning to be more present.
Can we live more enlightened moments right now, right here? In this retreat we will explore how we are meeting the moment. Are we aware or distracted? Is there grasping, aversion, or delusion in this moment? Is there a quality of kindness and presence? Is there suffering? How can we meet experience more kindly and skillfully so that the conditions for increasing happiness are cultivated while the seeds of suffering are left to wither.
This silent retreat, designed for beginners and experienced practitioners, invites you to explore the present moment and your relationship to it through sitting and walking meditation. It will be held at NAU’s Merriam-Powell Research Station near the Arboretum in Flagstaff.
